*RARE* Vintage Sony Magic Link Personal Intelligent Communicator PIC-1000--WORKING!
Original Model!  Original Box!  All original materials included!
In great condition, as shown, for a device that is nearly 30 years old.  It is as close to "new in box" as you can get for one of these...they rarely appear on eBay.
For your discerning vintage computing device collection, this is the
first, original Sony Magic Link
model with all original packaging and materials as shipped.  It uses the
Magic Cap operating system from General Magic
, which was far ahead of its time in envisioning touchscreen, highly connected portable devices with intelligent assistance.
This sale includes everything seen in the pictures above: device with charger/power adapter, extra battery tray, manuals, stylus, phone cord and leatherette case.
The rubbery coating on the device's case has discolored in some places as shown, which is normal aging for this type of material
.  Using the included power adapter, the device does power up and boot into Magic Cap (see screen shot).  It would need a new battery pack and backup battery for portable use.  Also included is an additional alkaline DoubleA battery tray, which originally had the Sony akaline batteries.  I have removed the batteries as they were corroded, but include the tray.
I ordered this Magic Link PIC-1000 direct from Sony in 1994; I am the original and only owner.  It was never used, and has been carefully stored in a climate-controlled, pet-free, smoke-free home for the last 27 years.
