VINTAGE WOODEN DOVETAILED ARTIST’S BOX WITH PALETTE IN VERY
GOOD CONDITION
This is a very good looking artist’s box that has a beautiful color and patina, both inside and out. It appears to have had very little, if any, use.
It is missing the handle and has an area on one outer corner that has been chipped off. This should show in the photographs. Other than that, it is in VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT condition especially considering its age.
It has a hinged top that opens up to reveal a matching wood pallet and various storage compartments that are all in good clean condition. There is a color chart, as shown in the pictures, pasted on the inside of the top lid from the American Crayon Co. with a Prang Color Guide imprinted on it. I don’t know whether that’s any indication as to the origin of this box or if that was added at a later date.
In any event, this is a very well taken care of, good looking, wooden dovetailed box that is missing its original handle.
