Vintage 1990 chicago FreeFest Smashing Pumpkins Tour Concert Shirt ORG CREW RARE.
Back in 1990, the Chicago, IL Cricket Hill area hosted a 2 day small 25 band festival dubbed “Free Fest” aka FreeFest showcasing some of Chicago’s own up and coming Rock bands. Out of the 30 bands (some of which reached various levels of success” the last billed would steal the show.
The Smashing Pumpkins we’re at this time still a semi successful Chicago band struggling for success. Well, spoiler, they became one of the most notable bands of the 90s and early 2000s.
This small venue (approx 500 attendees) was their first festival.
This shirt is a CREW shirt, as nothing was sold to guests… it’s in phenomenal condition for its age and hasn’t been worn since August of 1990. Just tucked away preserving this historical moment in music history! It is very likely the LAST surviving piece of this legendary event.
