New Caledonia, 10 Francs, 1979, Piefort Proof. This nice piece was struck on a double-thickness piefort planchet made of Sterling Silver. It is still in the original Paris Mint sealed packaging. Something about the plastic makes the photos not look that great, but the coin itself is very attractive. Any marks you see are on the plastic and not the coin. It comes with the original display box and certificate of authenticity. Only 250 Sterling Silver proofs were made. It weighs 14.2 grams and contains .422 troy ounces of actual silver.
