--- Install error at end of/on Disk 3 (I show some screen shots of the attempted install, Disk 1 and Disk 2 are successful, Disk 3 makes it almost to the end of the install but gets an error). Condition of Disk 4 and the patch disks are unknown and sold with no working guarantee. I tried the install under a windows98 dos shell and also in dos under a reboot (not sure of the version of dos). I show screen shots of the floppy directories of each disk in a dos shell. Files for Disk 3 list normally but the file must be corrupted in some way. I show screen shots of running the patch installs (one is supposed to be run from the doom directory so it shows a lack of memory error since I don't have doom installed etc).
--- Includes 2 original invoices, the original game invoice is dated February 9th 1994 which I understand to be the December 16th 1993 release of the first Registered version v1.1. The 2nd invoice is for the V 1.666 Registered patch disk and is dated 12/05/1994 on the invoice bottom (and 12/02/94 as date order was received by Idsoft). I covered the name on the invoices with a post it in the photos but both are sent to the same person/address.
--- There are extensive photos of the box, manual, disks etc below. I don't see evidence this was used or owned by a smoker. The box flap is open on the top (how it was found with the disks etc inside).
--- I have not closed the flap and will leave it as you see it (open), it will be packed by itself protected from the other media so it can't get creased/crushed/dinged etc (I used to collect computer/video/board games and have shipped thousands of boxed fragile media for over 20 years), I pack so the shipping container can be thrown off a roof onto the concrete, or stomped on or whatever could conceivably happen during handling. I custom make shipping containers lined with new sheet foam, and use bubblewrap, polysleeves (board backed when needed), I allow plenty of room between packed items and the inside container wall and double box when needed etc (I'm emphasizing this because as a former collector I have received all manner of packages improperly packed and understand how to fully preserve condition during shipment).
--- In my photos I show dozens of photos of the media, I have a lot of photos showing the box/manual surfaces at an angle to the light so you can see how the light reflects off the finish of the box/manual (to reveal creases and condition).
--- The box is pretty decent overall with the exception of the upper left side having crushing creasing. That inner tab on the upper left corner also shows a little tearing but is almost completely fully attached. That upper left side crush creasing reveals a little of the underlying white box board showing through the black printed box facing. The box is not warped or stained. The front face is overall pretty decent with some light finish wear and other minor blemishes, small 3/4" left edge crease close to the center of that edge, there are a few tiny blemishes elsewhere on the face (small nicks/scratches etc). Some edge rubbing on the box face finish. There is light surface wear to the finish with signs of mild rubbing (if you inspect the surface closely you can see very fine wear from storage etc. The left side face of the box (that has the crush creasing) also shows some dust coating, it was likely the outward face when stored (the dust does not just come off by brushing with your finger, it appears as a light coating of residue mostly seen in that upper area by the creasing).
--- The back of the box shows some edge creasing, appearing as indenting along the right and left edges likely caused from being stacked on a smaller box or manuals etc. The upper left side of the back has a long crease seen near the edge area and a top center edge crease corresponding to the crease in the top lid flap. The back shows more obvious facing wear along the edges including the bottom edge. There are also signs of finish wear to the back box facing including scratches or other small essentially naturally occurring blemishes from storage etc.
---- I show photos looking down inside the box to show the bottom inner flaps and main flap. I didn't try to open that flap, it may have been opened and may have creases to the inner tucked flap etc.
--- The right side box face has a center dent, a mild indent into the box showing as a minor edge bump on the right edge near center. The facing in that location on the box side shows indent impressions.
--- The left side of the box face shows facing creases corresponding to the edge crease seen in that location on the front face on the center left edge as described above.
--- The top flap has a center crease with a facing crack but is not split or torn, looking at the back facing in that area you can see a ridge caused by the crease. The top flap edges/corners show facing wear with a little facing loss at the corners/edges, those edges and corners also show creases etc caused by opening the box and being exposed during storage/handling etc.
--- The inside top flap shows light handling soiling etc but does not show abnormal discoloring or browning/yellowing, it is not white as new but is consistent with the age of the box material (for a game box that was not stored to fully preserve condition etc).
--- The manual is complete, noted a small pen mark at the bottom of the lower right corner of page 5 (see close-up photos below). The manual shows extensive handling thumb creases (not fold creases but those caused during reading and handling with your fingers/fingernails etc). There are two cover scratches into the black facing. Some edge bumping top/bottom/side edges. Typical spine creases. Staples look good and are not rusted or oxidized. All pages are secure. I didn't find any tears or splits. Just a touch of mild edge yellowing to pages. No mold or mildew, no stains or obvious soiling that I saw. As with the covers the pages also show the same signs of handling creases.
--- The labels on the 4 game disks look clean. A few very faint finish scuffs (I tried to photograph the finish to capture any surface finish marks or rubs etc). Small bit of residue on the back of the metal slide cover on the 4th disk. Metal slides show signs of handling and use.
--- The label on the V 1.666 patch disk has "Patchit" written in ink by hand above the version number. That label shows some handling wear with some rubs/light handling soiling etc.
--- The v1.2 label shows some rubbing with mild storage or handling soiling.
--- The two receipts show fold creases, handling soiling, general aging wear etc.
